The Purple Pumpkin (Capsicum annuum) is a special chili pepper that has absolutely not stolen its name! The small, flattened and clearly ribbed fruits resemble miniature pumpkins. But behind that cute appearance hides a surprisingly spicy pepper!
What makes this variety particularly special is its spectacular color development. The young fruits acquire a beautiful deep purple-pink to almost black color. As they mature further, warm bronze, brown, and orange shades appear, eventually turning into a brilliant, bright red end color.
With our own cultivation, we were able to watch this special color development in all its glory. The plants simultaneously produced deep purple, bronze, orange and fully ripe red fruits. A stunning color palette that makes the Purple Pumpkin a real eye-catcher!
