🌶️ Aji Colorado – The colorful Peruvian pepper with a deliciously fruity flavor

The Red chili pepper is beautiful Capsicum baccatum from South America and highly recommended for enthusiasts of fruity peppers with a pleasant, medium heat. The plants grow sturdily, branch well, and can produce a substantial amount of elongated, pendant fruit during the season.

The fruits are starting green and change color during ripening to a striking deep red. They usually have an elongated, slightly tapered shape and give the plant a colorful appearance. As with many Capsicum baccatum-breeds, the typical light spots or discolorations often appear on the flowers as well.

In terms of taste, the Aji Colorado crisp, fruity and lightly sweet, combined with a distinct yet very usable heat. This makes this pepper particularly versatile in the kitchen. It is excellent for fresh salsas, sauces, and marinades, but can also be dried or processed into chili powder.
