The Dong Xuan Market Yellow is a special Capsicum baccatum from Vietnam, originating from the well-known Dong Xuan Market in Hanoi. This less common variety is particularly interesting because of its attractive, elongated fruits, fruity flavor, and pleasant pungency.
The plants are growing powerful and branch well and can produce a significant amount of peppers during the season. The fruits become approximately 7 to 10 cm long and have a slender, elongated shape that is strongly reminiscent of varieties such as Aji Lemon or Aji Pineapple. They look nice on the plant and provide a striking color accent as they ripen.
The fruits are starting green and turn a nice color upon full ripening yellow color. As we are used to Capsicum baccatum being used to, the Dong Xuan Market Yellow has a distinct fruity and aromatic character, combined with a clear yet pleasant sharpness.
This pepper is therefore not only interesting for collectors of special varieties, but also an excellent choice for those who like to fruity peppers with a bit more heat used in the kitchen.
