🌶️ Purple Death - Italian beauty with devilish heat
The Purple Death is an impressive creation from Italy, developed by Fadda's Pepper, and belongs to the so-called superhots. This variety is a cross between the 7 Pot Primo and the Purple Ghost pepper - two of the hottest peppers in the world.
The compact plants (about 70-90 cm tall) have dark purple leaves and beautiful purple blossoms, which makes them a real eye-catcher even before the first fruit appears. The peppers themselves begin deep purple and mature to fiery red, with smooth skin and the characteristic tail shape reminiscent of the Carolina Reaper.
In terms of flavor, Purple Death may be fruity and aromatic, but the heat is relentless. With 800,000 to 1,500,000 Scoville units it is among the absolute top hottest peppers in the world.
