The Vampire is a special Capsicum annuum which is not only interesting because of its peppers, but also for its striking ornamental value. The plant has beautiful dark to purple-black accents in the leaves and stems and produces striking purple-white flowers.
The elongated fruits begin as very dark purple to almost black and form a beautiful contrast with the leaves. During ripening they gradually turn yellow and eventually end up in a light red to blood red color. When dark and red fruits are attached to the plant at the same time, the Vampire is a real eye-catcher.
With a spiciness of about 10,000–15,000 SHU This pepper has a clearly noticeable, yet still usable heat. This makes the Vampire much more than just a beautiful ornamental pepper.
