The Carolina Reaper is perhaps the most famous chili pepper ever - and for good reason. Officially recognized by the Guinness World Records as the hottest pepper in the world, with an average heat of 1,600,000 SHU and peaks to well over 2,200,000 SHU. A pepper that commands respect!
The fruits are small to medium in size, bright red when maturing and recognizable by their distinctive round shape with a sharp "tail tip. In addition to the extreme heat, however, the Carolina Reaper surprises with a fruity, slightly sweet undertone, making it - if used with care - actually add flavor rather than just fire.
